กรุงเทพฯ, ๒ กรกฎาคม ๒๕๖๙ — ราชวิทยาลัยจุฬาภรณ์ จัดงานปาฐกถาพิเศษเทิดพระเกียรติ “สิริศิลป์จินตภาพน้ำพระทัยเจ้าฟ้าจุฬาภรณ์” เนื่องในโอกาสวันคล้ายวันประสูติ ศาสตราจารย์ ดร. สมเด็จพระเจ้าน้องนางเธอ เจ้าฟ้าจุฬาภรณวลัยลักษณ์ อัครราชกุมารี กรมพระศรีสวางควัฒน วรขัตติยราชนารี องค์ประธานและนายกสภาราชวิทยาลัยจุฬาภรณ์ ๔ กรกฎาคม ๒๕๖๙ ณ อาคารกรมพระศรีสวางควัฒน โรงพยาบาลจุฬาภรณ์ เขตหลักสี่ โดยได้รับเกียรติจาก ดร.ฐากูร พานิช รักษาการรองเลขาธิการราชวิทยาลัยจุฬาภรณ์ เป็นผู้บรรยายในหัวข้อ “วิทยาการสะท้อนความงาม: กล้วยไม้ฟาแลนนอปซิส พริ้นเซสจุฬาภรณ์ นิรมิตศิลป์จากรังไหมสู่ความวิจิตรแห่งดอกไม้พระนามอันเปี่ยมสิริศิลป์” เพื่อบอกเล่าถึงประวัติศาสตร์อันงดงามและคุณค่าทางพฤกษศาสตร์ของดอกไม้ประจำราชวิทยาลัยจุฬาภรณ์ อันเป็นสัญลักษณ์แห่งความสง่างาม อ่อนโยน และน้ำพระทัยที่แผ่ไพศาลไปไม่มีที่สิ้นสุด
ดร.ฐากูร พานิช รักษาการรองเลขาธิการราชวิทยาลัยจุฬาภรณ์ ได้ย้อนรำลึกถึงที่มาของกล้วยไม้สายพันธุ์นี้เมื่อครั้งดำรงตำแหน่งเอกอัครราชทูตไทยประจำศรีลังกา ซึ่งรัฐบาลศรีลังกาได้ทูลเกล้าฯ ถวายต้นกล้วยไม้ลูกผสมใหม่นี้แด่ ศาสตราจารย์ ดร. สมเด็จพระเจ้าน้องนางเธอ เจ้าฟ้าจุฬาภรณ์วลัยลักษณ์ อัครราชกุมารี กรมพระศรีสวางควัฒน วรขัตติยราชนารี เมื่อปี พ.ศ. ๒๕๔๒ และได้รับพระราชทานนามว่า “ฟาแลนนอปซิส พริ้นเซส จุฬาภรณ์” (Phalaenopsis Princess Chulabhorn) กล้วยไม้ดังกล่าวเป็นลูกผสมระหว่าง Phalaenopsis Rose Miva กับ Phalaenopsis Kandy Queen มีลักษณะเด่นคือ ดอกขนาดใหญ่ กลีบกว้างกลมมน สีขาวบริสุทธิ์ บริเวณโคนกลีบแต้มด้วยสีชมพูอ่อนและค่อย ๆ จางเรื่อลงอย่างนุ่มนวลวิจิตร เปรียบประดุจดั่งตัวแทนแห่งน้ำพระทัยอันบริสุทธิ์และอ่อนโยนที่มีต่อพสกนิกรและมิตรประเทศเสมอมา และเพื่อเป็นการสืบสานน้ำพระทัยและวิทยาการแห่งความงามนั้น ราชวิทยาลัยจุฬาภรณ์ได้ส่งต่อแรงบันดาลใจสู่กิจกรรมสร้างสรรค์ทางศิลปวัฒนธรรมและการกุศล ผ่านกิจกรรมเวิร์กชอปประดิษฐ์เข็มกลัดดอกกล้วยไม้ฟาแลนนอปซิส พริ้นเซส จุฬาภรณ์ “นิรมิตศิลป์จากรังไหม” โดยได้รับความร่วมมือจากทีมวิทยากรผู้เชี่ยวชาญจากหมู่บ้านทอผ้าไหมบ้านต้อน อำเภอบ้านเขว้า จังหวัดชัยภูมิ แหล่งภูมิปัญญาผ้าไหมชื่อดังของประเทศ มาร่วมนำรังไหมแท้คุณภาพดีมาต่อยอดและดัดแปลงด้วยความประณีตอ่อนช้อย ผู้มีจิตศรัทธาสามารถร่วมทำบุญบริจาคเงินจำนวน ๖๙ บาท เพื่อรับเข็มกลัดดอกกล้วยไม้จากรังไหม สมทบทุนมูลนิธิศรีสวางควัฒน ในพระอุปถัมภ์ฯ หรือเลือกที่จะส่งต่อเข็มกลัดที่ประดิษฐ์ด้วยฝีมือของตนเองมอบให้แก่ราชวิทยาลัยจุฬาภรณ์ เพื่อนำไปจัดหารายได้สมทบทุนมูลนิธิฯ ในการช่วยเหลือผู้ป่วยยากไร้ และสนับสนุนการจัดหาเครื่องมือทางการแพทย์ของโรงพยาบาลจุฬาภรณ์ต่อไป

Chulabhorn Royal Academy Hosts Special Commemorative Lecture, Translating the Story of “Phalaenopsis Princess Chulabhorn” Orchid into the “Artistry from Silk Cocoons” Charity Event
BANGKOK, 2 July 2026 — Chulabhorn Royal Academy hosted a special commemorative lecture titled “Sirisilapin: Fantasia – The Reflection of HRH Princess Chulabhorn’s Benevolence”, organized to celebrate the birthday anniversary of Professor Dr. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana, President of Chulabhorn Royal Academy, on July 4, 2026 at the Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana Building, Chulabhorn Hospital, Chulabhorn Royal Academy. The event honored Dr. Thakur Phanit, Acting Deputy Secretary-General of Chulabhorn Royal Academy, as the keynote speaker for the final session : “Science Reflecting Beauty: Phalaenopsis Princess Chulabhorn Orchid — Artistry from Silk Cocoons to the Exquisite Elegance of the Royal-Named Flower.” This lecture highlighted the beautiful history and botanical value of the orchid, which serves as the official flower of Chulabhorn Royal Academy—a symbol of elegance, gentleness, and boundless royal benevolence.
Dr. Thakur Phanit recounted the history of this orchid variety from his time serving as the Ambassador of Thailand to Sri Lanka. On August 27, 1999, during an official visit to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka by Professor Dr. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana, the Sri Lankan Minister of Agriculture and Lands, on behalf of the Sri Lankan government, presented Her Royal Highness with a new hybrid orchid developed by the Royal Botanical Garden Peradeniya in Kandy, Sri Lanka. It was subsequently granted the auspicious royal name “Phalaenopsis Princess Chulabhorn”.
This orchid variety is a hybrid between Phalaenopsis Rose Miva and Phalaenopsis Kandy Queen. Its distinctive features include large blossoms with broad, rounded petals measuring approximately 9 centimeters in diameter. The petals are pure white, with the base delicately brushed with a soft pink hue that gracefully fades and blends seamlessly into the white. This exquisite tenderness not only showcases its botanical beauty but also symbolizes Her Royal Highness’s pure, gentle spirit and deep compassion for her subjects and international allies.
To carry forward this royal benevolence and the science of beauty, Chulabhorn Royal Academy has channeled this inspiration into a creative cultural and charitable initiative. Attendees were invited to join a workshop to craft “Phalaenopsis Princess Chulabhorn Orchid Brooches from Silk Cocoons.” The event featured expert artisans from the Ban Ton Silk Weaving Village in Ban Khwao District, Chaiyaphum Province—a nationally renowned hub of silk heritage—who selected high-quality, genuine silk cocoons to creatively transform into these intricately detailed and graceful royal-named orchid brooches.
Participants and charitable donors could make a contribution of 69 Baht to receive a handmade silk cocoon orchid brooch, with all proceeds going to the Srisavangavadhana Foundation under the Royal Patronage. Alternatively, participants could choose to donate their handcrafted brooches back to Chulabhorn Royal Academy to help raise funds for the foundation. These funds will be used to provide medical assistance to underprivileged patients and support the procurement of medical equipment for Chulabhorn Hospital, Chulabhorn Royal Academy.
